Obituary of Fred S. Altiero

Fred S. Altiero age 71, died peacefully in his sleep on January 18th 2022 at home in Wayne NJ surrounded by his beloved family.  Fred was born April 12, 1950 in Newark NJ.  The son of the late Rocco and Eleanor Altiero. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1968 Fred became a Correctional officer at the Essex County Jail, and then later became a business owner of Altiero Liquors in Paterson NJ for more than 30+ Years.

Fred had been happily married for 47 years to Roseann and had twin boys Kenny and Gerard.

 

Fred was always an extremely hard worker, disciplined, and always led by example. He loved spending his spare time with his family watching football on Sundays, reminiscing of the amazing memories he made throughout the years with family and friends.  He also loved spending time with his dogs that brought an enormous amount of joy to his life.  Fred was an avid wine lover who enjoyed pairing that with a nice gourmet meal on the weekend with his wife and friends.  

He is survived by his beloved wife Roseann Altiero. His loving sons Ken and Gerard Altiero. His daughter in law Anna Altiero. He is also survived by his brother in law Phil Battaglino and his niece and nephew Phillip and Andrea.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am and  will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo. Entombment to follow at in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
